- Mannequin
Mania -
La Trobe (2007) - "Mannequin
Mania” was
a project commissioned for National Youth Week 2007 by
LaTrobe Council, Northern Tasmania. Six large
parade puppets were built by twenty students from LaTrobe High
School over a three day period. The theme was “Launch
Yourself” .
Out of this came six very different backpack puppets including
a Dragon, a bird, wasp, fairy angel, hippie and a frog.
All these fantastic
creations are being used at different events during Youth Week
and beyond by the same students that created them. They
were built utilising
a lot of recycled materials sourced from the excellent tip shops
that are everywhere in Tasmania.
